Oh peonies… how are you so beautiful?

With their large, floppy petals and gentle dance back and forth in the breeze, they are among the most romantic of flowers! They are, in my humble opinion, topped ONLY by roses themselves. And very specific varieties of roses at that.

In this video I’m going to share with you my love for peonies by recreating an old youtube tutorial that I created when I first started my channel. It’s been a while and I’ve grown a lot as an educator, I’ve updated my tech and to be blunt: I know what you guys want to know now. I didn’t know that you wanted to see the color mixing! I know, shocker. But I honestly didn’t know in my first year. Now I do and I always include it because I love you.

We’ll also talk about color theory (duh), the use of depth, fixing our mistakes and common mistakes I see from beginner artists. I know you’ll love this watercolor tutorial and I can’t wait any longer so let’s dive in!
