How to Watercolor Realistic Tulip Flowers
This watercolor tutorial has been a long time coming! I fell in love with parrot tulips over 2 years ago and developed a love-hate relationship with illustrating them. The usual structure of a tulip is thrown off by these whimsical frays which is both delicate and so so difficult to capture unless you are careful not to overthink things. I definitely recommend working off of a good reference photo with these flowers rather than trying to work from your head, or you may run into trouble like I did last year… (click here to see my less than stellar illustration from 2019).
