How to Paint a Ruby Throated Hummingbird
Little known fact about me: I went through a very long and hard bird-loving phase! I even had bird decor at our wedding (not a theme by any means, but definitely present!). When I first started to explore watercolor I dove head first into birds before I even looked at trying flowers but soon left them behind for what later became my main love: watercolor florals!
However, the past several months I have become infatuated, yet again, with my winged friends. Not only is The Fellowship Collection inspired in part by birds, but it became clear that my tutorials and paintings needed to see a sprinkling of my feathered creations as well!
No surprise, a beautiful hummingbird graced the stage early on. This is one of the few painted items in my little art collection, but how could I resist a colorful hummingbird??
