Realistic Botanical Flower Pencil Shading

Traditional pencil shading is a wonderful art form that can take the impression of a single tool—a pencil—and mimic the effects of sculpture, show casing both space and form.

In today’s video, I’m going to take you “over my shoulder” to show you my process for realistic botanical flower shading with a pencil. I’m excited to share some of my thought process and some shading tips and techniques along the way.

If—as you’re watching this video—you really enjoy the process and find yourself hungry for more, then you will LOVE my Pencil Shading Course! In the full realistic shading course, I share a wealth of knowledge on pencil shading and drawing in such a way to capture the 3D form, confidently create beautiful gradients and build experience with this unique and rich drawing style. It’s much more in depth and full than I can offer in a 1 hour YouTube video, though I think that both are valuable!
