Custom Watercolor Monogram and Wreath | Golkouh and Patrick
A beautiful watercolor wedding crest can be the perfect way to showcase your style as a family. This couple embraced their own aesthetic and stepped away from some of the popular trends in the wedding industry to create their unique wedding monogram wreath, and I am so pleased with the result!
Choosing When to Splurge:
Not everyone has the budget for a fully custom wedding invitation suite. And honestly, that's not a bad thing if you're one of those people! My husband and I could simply not afford all of the extra things when we were married.
Golkouh (the bride for this crest) was one of those who was choosing where to splurge wisely. She selected a non-custom wedding invitation suite, but wanted something to customize it to herself and Patrick's (her husband) style. She chose a custom monogram that they could place on the envelope liners, use to personalize their wedding details, and hang in their home after the wedding. I think you will agree that she made an excellent choice with this show-stopper!
The Wreath
We originally spoke about creating a crest to house the monogram in, but eventually decided to simplify. The beautiful, minimal wreath in various shades of blues and cool greens. While we played around with the idea of adding flowers to the wreath, we ended up deciding against it—the leaves were elegant enough and fit their style as a couple better than flowers.
Pro tip: Just because everyone else is doing it, does not mean that it's right for you—if you don't usually love having flowers around, don't try to become a different person for your wedding day or you'll hate that element about it later.
The Monogram
Golkouh wanted a stately monogram. Nothing too feminine, but not too harsh or masculine. We looked at various styles and eventually decided that the more historic, structured style would be the perfect fit. I simplified some of the details a little to give it a more modern flair. To finish it off, we used the indigo and light grey colors that were used in their wedding, and home decor.
I am so honored to be able to share this piece with you today. Golkouh and Patrick were married earlier this month and I couldn't be happier for them. Please join me in celebrating with them!
