Improve Your Flower Drawing In Less Than 1 Week!
What if I told you that I could drastically improve your drawing skills in less than one week? Even if you have never really drawn before.
I’m not saying that because I’m crazy, but because I’ve done it. I taught art professionally for years before coming home to run Blushed full time and take care of our little boy. I started creating small tutorials for YouTube to share what I’ve been experimenting with in Watercolor, but the common thread that I was finding in the majority of my students was a lack of drawing abilities. This hole in their artistic foundation was holding them back and they were unable to use the tips that I was giving them on their own artwork. Instead, they simply tried to copy pictures of my artwork the best that they could.
Well, I didn’t teach art for nothing! So I created a small video tutorial series where I will teach you how to draw—anything really, but we’ll stick with flowers for the sake of simplicity this week :)
This series is more than a step-by-step tutorial where I show you a formula to follow. Rather, I’m sharing and demonstrating 5 foundational truths and practices about art that will help you to draw whatever you set your pen to! I don’t want to create a mini “Katrina” art movement, but rather, give you the tools you need to develop your own style and polish your artistic abilities so that your efforts with all media—whether it’s drawing, painting, sculpture, etc—will benefit.
Still unsure? Check out the difference between this student’s two drawings:
Same student, same pencil, same type of paper. No copying, tracing or formula—I didn’t even know what flowers she was planning to draw!
I’m not saying this because I’m trying to scam you. This challenge is completely free, and honestly, you can quit after day 2 or 3 if you want to! But this is the fastest (not to mention the cheapest) way to grow without taking an in-person class. I can’t be all over the world to teach in person, but I can give you this opportunity. I hope you’ll join me—we’re starting soon and I can’t wait to see how much YOU grow after this week.
BUT WHY A CHALLENGE?
Wouldn’t it be easier to just upload a YouTube video series?
Yes, it actually would have been a lot less work for me! And more profitable, if I’m honest.
But I truly believe that there is something unique and irreplaceable about the community aspect of this challenge that I simply cannot forge on a platform like YouTube.
Being involved in a challenge with other people gives you the motivation to press on until then end. I mean, I can do anything for five days, but it is so much easier to do it when my friends are right there with me, right?! This accountability to make it through the entire challenge will help you to improve—not to mention, you will have even more advice and support than I am able to provide alone, or through a platform like YouTube.
By pairing these tutorials with social media, I will be able to give you dedicated feedback, as though we were in the classroom together. I will be able to answer your questions, clarify information and homework, and adjust the next lesson to fit your needs.
After comparing my options…
It became clear that the best way for me to capture the classroom community that I wanted to have, with the support and accountability that I know is needed to excel, and reach all of my students from around the world, that The Floral Drawing Challenge was my obvious choice!
