Painting Your Own Wall Paper - I Repainted my Studio Mural!

There’s been a lot of back and forth in the Studio lately… “To paint over the mural or not to paint over the mural??”

My previous wall painting became an iconic part of my business and I still receive questions about it every single month! I loved it. I loved that it brought so many of us together. I love that it was a challenge that I overcame. I loved how feminine and bold it was.

But…
I hated filming against it.
I put off fixing part of the wall that had to be patched.
I started to pick the details apart as my style changed and eye improved.

It was time for a change! I knew the look that I was going for, the flowers that I would include and even that I wanted to include a few insects! The hardest part was choosing a color for the background! My office is East facing, so it has a lot of odd lighting and even the green that I had before looked yellow or grey in some lights and I just wasn’t crazy about that. I ended up recycling a soft blue shade (Ocean Air by BM) that we used in another part of our house with a similar window situation. It’s a little bright at some hours of the day, but most of the time it’s a feminine, gentle blue that sets the relaxing tone that I wanted to have in my office.

Below you’ll find the full video, my supply list and a few of my tips/tricks and some of the mistakes that I made along the way! I hope you love the end result as much as I do!
